I finally landed on becoming a teacher and realised that it's in my bones to teach.
If you are reading this, then you are probably curious to know how I became a supply teaching agency and training provider director. Well, I was born and bred in Norfolk and thought about every career as young people do from a scientist to a solicitor to a fashion designer. My eureka moment finally arrived and I realised that it is in my bones to teach. Throughout my degree I was sent on placement to many disadvantaged school communities and couldn’t shake the feeling of injustice that a lot of the time – the most skilled staff were in more affluent areas. From this point forward I vowed to always work in disadvantaged schools and not only teach the children but have a lasting impact on a community.
I have taught in every year group and have been a middle leader, senior leader and acting headteacher
I have been incredibly lucky to be a part of many ‘turn-around’ schools and go on the journey from special measures to outstanding. Throughout this time, I have taught in every year group and have been a middle leader, senior leader and acting headteacher. After all this experience and enjoyment, I cannot get away from the commitment of wanting to ensure that every child, parent and member of staff is given the opportunity to be the absolute best they can be. So, in October 2019, alongside teaching a year 5 class, I took the plunge and began my Masters in Education specialising in Leadership and Management. Learning in depth about styles of leadership, professional development and change management. I cannot wait to get stuck into my second year!
